אבא ואמא היקרים, אומר אדם. אנא ספרו לקוראיכם כי בתאריכים יד', טו', טז', של חודש אב (1, 2 ו-3 באוגוסט הקרוב), מהשעה 5.00 אחרי הצהרים עד 10.30 בערב, יתקיים פסטיבל התיאטרון השנתי המכונה: "360 מעלות" בכפר שאול, רח' קצנלבוגן 96, הר נוף, ירושלים.
עד כה תמיד הצגנו את מופעי הפסטיבל במקומות שונים בירושלים והסביבה. השנה יותר ממאה אמנים ישתתפו בעשרות מופעים וכולם יהיו באתר שהיה פעם כפר ערבי והיום נקרא "כפר שאול".
אברהם ואני מנידים את ראשנו בפליאה ומביטים בבנינו אדם שרק לפני חודש חזר משהייה של שמונה חודשים בארץ פפואה וכבר שופע ברעיונות ואנרגיה לקראת פסטיבל התאטרון שהוא מארגן כל קיץ בשיתוף עיריית ירושלים.
למה דווקא בכפר שאול, שואל אברהם. האם זה לא בית חולים לחולי נפש?
יש בכפר שאול מוסד לבריאות הנפש, אם לזה אתה מתכוון, אומר אדם, והייתה לי, לאורך השנים, הזכות להכיר ולהתיידד עם כמה גברים ונשים המתגוררים שם. ביניהם שחקנים, מדענים, מוזיקאים, משוררים ומורים. חלק מהאנשים הללו זקוקים לטיפול למשך מספר שבועות, חודשים או שנים. אחרים כנראה יישארו לגור בכפר שאול עד סוף חייהם, לא בגלל שאין להם כשרונות או רעיונות מקוריים, אלא בגלל שהם לא מצליחים להתאים את עצמם לדרישות החברה כפי שאנחנו, תושבי העולם המערבי, קבענו אותן.
אז מה הקשר לפסטיבל המלהיב שלך, אני שואלת ואני תופסת את ידו של אברהם לתמיכה.
אדם מהרהר לרגע לפני שהוא משיב: מדוע אנשים, שביניהם אמנים גדולים הסובלים מדיכאון או חרדה, צריכים לבלות את ימיהם מבודדים מתיאטרון, מוזיקה וכל ביטוי תרבותי אחר, כאשר דימיון, משחק וכל סוגי אמנות בכלל קיימים ופורחים בכל פינה בירושלים?,
מדוע לא ישתתפו בפסטיבל שלנו גם האמנים הזקוקים לעזרה נפשית כאשר דווקא להם יש מדי פעם אבוקות דימיון וגאונות?
אז מה הפיתרון, אני שואלת בזהירות.
בדיוק מה שאני עושה, אומר אדם. אכן: מכיוון שאמני כפר שאול אינם יכולים או אינם רשאים לצאת מהמתחם, הגיע הזמן שאנו, האמנים שחושבים את עצמם ל"בריאים", נגיע אליהם כדי שנוכל לעורר השראה הדדית.
ביחד אנחנו נמלא שלושה ערבים בהתפרצויות של אמנות עכשווית. הצוות, המטופלים וציבור המבקרים יטיילו בשבילים המסתוריים של כפר שאול העתיק והציורי וימריצו זה את זה ביצירות ומופעים בלתי צפויים.
סַפְרו לקוראים שלכם, אבא ואמא. כי הולך להיות לנו פסטיבל מדהים.

הכרטיסים זולים. אם תלכו למופע אחד, תשלמו 50 שקל. אם תלכו לשניים, הכרטיס השני יעלה לכם רק 30 שקל, ואם תלכו לשלוש הופעות או יותר, כל כרטיס נוסף יעלה 10 שקלים בלבד. האם אין זו מציאה אמיתית?
בכפר שאול עצמו יהיו כרטיסים למכירה, מדגיש אדם, אבל אודה לכם אם תקנו לפחות חלק מהכרטיסים דרך האינטרנט. זה יעזור לי להוכיח שיש פוטנציאל כלכלי לחלום שלי להקים בכפר שאול מרכז תרבות לטובת כולנו כולל האנשים שקשה להם באופן נפשי.

Dear Abba and Ima, says Adam. Please tell your readers that on August 1, 2 and 3, (14th, 15th, 16th of Av) from 5 to 10.30 in the evening, our annual Theatre Festival "360 degrees" will take place in Kfar Shaul, Katsnelbogen Street 96 , Har Nof, Jerusalem.
So far we've always presented shows in many different locations in and around Jerusalem. This year more than a hundred performing artists will stage dozens of shows in the beautiful natural surroundings of this ancient Arab village.
Abraham and I shake our heads in wonder while looking at our son who only recently returned from an eight-month stay in Papua Land and, brimming with new ideas, has already immersed himself in the annual Jerusalem 360-Degrees Festival he created years ago in cooperation with the Jerusalem municipality.
Why in Kfar Shaul, asks Abraham. Isn't that a psychiatric hospital?
There is a mental health center in Kfar Shaul, if that's what you mean, says Adam. And I have, over the years, had the privilege to meet and befriend several men and women who live there. Among them are performing artists, scientists, musicians, poets and teachers. Some of these people need treatment for a few weeks, months or years. Others will probably remain in Kfar Shaul until the end of their lives, not because they have no talents or novel ideas, but because they miss the possibility to adapt to the demands of society as we, inhabitants of the Western world, have established them.
So what's the connection with your exuberant summer festival, I cautiously ask while grabbing Abraham's hand for support.
Adam ponders a moment before answering: Why should people, among them great artists who happen to suffer from depression or anxiety, have to spend their days in isolation from art, music and other expressions of culture, when art, fantasy and "make-believe" are alive and kicking all over Jerusalem?
Why should those artists who live in Kfar Shaul, and who are sometimes blessed by flares of imagination and genius, not take part in our festival?
So what could be the solution, I ask cauthiously.
Exactly what we're doing, Adam replies. Since the artists of Kfar Shaul cannot or are not allowed to leave the premises, it's time for us, who consider ourselves "healthy", to come to them so that we can inspire each other. Together we are going to fill three evenings with contemporary artistic outbursts. Staff, patients and public will stroll along the mysterious paths of ancient and picturesque Kfar Shaul and energize each other with unexpected musical and theatrical creations. Tell your readers, Abba and Imma, for this is going to be an amazing festival.

Tickets are cheap. If you go to one performance, you pay 50 shekel. If you go to two, the second ticket will cost only 30 shekel, and if you go to three or more performances, each additional ticket will cost only 10 shekel. If that's not a bargain, what is?
Of course you will be able to buy tickets on site, Adam adds, but if possible, please buy at least some of your tickets online. This will help me to prove that my dream of establishing a cultural centrum within the bounderies of Kfar Shaul, for the benefit of everyone including the mentally challenged, is financially possible.
